The Junior League of Greensboro has voted, approved and holds the following public stands on issues facing our community:
Quality Public Education
The Junior League of Greensboro, NC, Inc. will support programs that seek to supplement and enhance the public education system thereby ensuring the delivery of a quality education that meets the needs of public school children in our community.
The Junior League of Greensboro, NC, Inc. supports the successful implementation of programs that ensure all children gain academic readiness and literacy skills during their primary and middle school years. The Junior League of Greensboro, NC Inc. supports programs that seek to improve basic literacy skills among new adult readers while fostering greater self-esteem, community service and leadership skills.
Safe and Healthy Housing
The Junior League of Greensboro, NC, Inc. supports programs and legislation that will eliminate substandard housing, allow for a variety of affordable housing options, and promote homeowner/tenant education for our citizens.
Access to Basic Needs
The Junior League of Greensboro, NC, Inc. supports programs that ensure all citizens have access to resources that meet their most basic needs.
Establishing Positive Role Models and Mentors
The Junior League of Greensboro, NC, Inc. supports programs that establish and nurture mentor relationships, expose youth and their parents to positive role models, promote character development and teach bullying prevention and the impact of bullying on its victims.

The Junior League of Greensboro, NC, Inc. supports programs and policies that improve the quality of our environment and that educate community members of all ages about environmental issues, concerns, and possible solutions. Focus areas include, but are not limited to, our homes, schools, workplaces, neighborhoods, parks, water, and air.
Family and Children
The Junior League of Greensboro, NC, Inc. supports programs and initiatives benefiting families and children. This includes improving the quality of life, education, growth, and welfare of citizens ranging from pre-natal to the elderly. The Junior League also supports efforts to eliminate factors that contribute to the perpetuation of domestic violence. Issues of particular concern continue to be: Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention, Educational Excellence, Assistance to Victims with Ultimate Goal of Eliminating Domestic Violence, High-quality and Affordable Childcare, Prevention and Treatment of Substance Abuse, Family Life and Children’s Overall Growth and Welfare and Quality of Life as People Age.
Voluntarism and Community
The purpose of the Junior League of Greensboro, NC, Inc. is to improve the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. The Junior League supports and promotes voluntarism as an essential component of our society by providing training for our volunteers and by creating and supporting programs that benefit our diverse community through the utilization of volunteers. The Junior League supports programs and policies in the areas of downtown revitalization, historical preservation, low-income housing, and crime and violence.
The Junior League of Greensboro, NC, Inc. is committed to ensuring that all women have the opportunities and services essential for their economic, social, mental, physical, and emotional well-being. The League will continue to educate the community on critical points of interest, advocate to see that expedient opportunities and services are provided, and work to ensure that equality is maintained.
The Junior League of Greensboro, NC, Inc. recognizes the significant correlation between a healthy female population and a vibrant, healthy community. For this reason, the League is deeply committed to ensuring that women receive the proper health care and services necessary to fulfill their vital roles within the family and community.
